Farmland Steamboat & Seafood Restaurant

I went to Farmland Steamboat Restaurant in Jalan Maharajalela with my mum during Father's Day to try out their porridge steamboat. This was my 2nd time trying out porridge steamboat but the first for mum. Previously, this outlet operated in Pudu but shifted to Maharajalela this year.

There were 3 types of porridge base available i.e; golden porridge (pumpkin & sweet potato), white porridge (five rice porridge) and jade porridge (spinach porridge). According to them, the benefits of eating porridge include better complexion, keeping the throat moist, reduce stomach bloating and wind and keep the body hydrated.

Mum & I decided to try their golden pumpkin porridge soup base and plain soup base. We ordered 2 sets of steamboat sets (RM 15.90 per set). For those who love porridge, you should come over to cook the given ingredients in the porridge base..something different as compared to the traditional soup base steamboat...

After chucking in all the ingredients, the juice/flavor from the raw ingredients made both the soup and porridge taste very good and sweet. Mum and I actually finished up the porridge cause it is so tasty. We return home with a smile on our face & stomach full of the sweet porridge.

Oh ya, aside from the steamboat, we also had the Jelly Fish with Special Taste:
Jelly Fish with Special Taste (RM 12)

Farmland Steamboat Restaurant not only sell steamboat but also some delicious dishes. One of it is the Jelly Fish with Special Taste. This jelly fish dish is very good to eat as a starter as it is very appetizing.

I believe this dish is quite a hit among the customers because I see many customers ordering this dish.

It is a very yummy sesame flavored jelly fish with coriander leaves served in cold style. Besides that, some chili padi were added in to make it more spicy. Squeeze the lime and mix the juice with the jelly fish to make it more tasty.
Will I come again? Definitely...........will come againnnnnn..............

P/s: Please come here early if you don't want to wait as when we were half way through our meal, the restaurant is almost full house.
Total Damage including 2 warm water (RM 1) & 10% service charge  = RM 53.70

After my break from shopping last week, I passed by Esquire Kitchen in Tropicana Mall and decided to get their Ham Tan Sou @ Salted Egg Pastry as my snack.

Ham Tan Sou (RM 1.80)
The lovely shaped Ham Tan Sou with little bits of sesame seed sprinkled on the pastry skin. The sesame seed make the Ham Tan Sou more fragrant and appetizing. The Ham Tan Sou is fully filled with lotus paste; which isn't too sweet. This is good as I do not like my lotus paste to be too sweet.

Can you spot the salted egg yolk??? I am sure you can see as the portion of egg yolk inserted is quite big.........definitely not as stingy like Tuan Yuan's Ham Tan Sou where you can't see any of the egg yolk at all....with that amount of salted egg yolk, I managed to satisfy my cravings for egg yolk....yummy yummy.....

Seafood Risotto @ Italiannies

Although the food at Italiannies is pricey, me and WK decided to go for it as part of our Christmas celebration after work and we had the Seafood Risotto.

Seafood risotto (around RM 31/32)
The seafood was sauteed in white wine and then added to the Arborio rice which was simmered with clam and chicken broth. The seafood used were prawns, mussels and squid. The mussels were huge and all the seafood were fresh. Although the price is pricey, but with the big amount of seafood in it, it is definitely worth trying this dish. The risotto was creamy and slightly spicy but WK said it was a bit too spicy for her as she don't like spicy food......yummy yummy from me...hehe....

Braised Lamb Shank @ Italiannies

This is my first time eating at Italiannies with WK after work back in 2009 to celebrate Christmas. I ordered the Braised Lamb Shank while WK ordered the Seafood Risotto.

Freshly baked breads....
I love the fluffy soft breads dipped in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It is interesting to eat the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar as opposed to the usual bread and butter.

My Braised Lamb Shank (RM 39.90)
The braised lamb is served with finely mashed potato which I liked it very much. The mashed potato also goes very well with the accompanying brown sauce. Okay, back to the lamb; the meat is really flavorful with slight aroma of herbs. I actually don't need to use the knife to cut the meat from the bone as the meat came off easily as the lamb is braised until very juicy and tender. This is good for me as I dislike using too much strenth to get the meat out from the bone.....Super thumbs up......yummy.....

Ice cream steamboat @ Haagen Daz

As we all know, Haagen Daz ice cream is never cheap. It is not something that I can always indulge in. But thanks to a contest, I manage to win some Haagen Daz vouchers. I used the vouchers to enjoy their Ice cream Steamboat @ Chocolate Fondue with YC and Gene. I guess the Chocolate Fondue is popular among the customers especially couples as I see many people ordering it. This is what YC said on the Chocolate Fondue "Woww..a very luxurious ice cream feast!! smile double thumb up!" Do give it a try if you would like to have a sinful treat......

Lunch @ Sing Kee

Sing Kee in Taman Desa is a restaurant occupying two shop lots and is well known for their roast duck and other roast stuffs. They also sell mix economy rice. As for me and my mum, we decided to have their roast duck rice for lunch. The meat is tender and juicy and the skin is good too. Very crispy.

If you want to avoid the crowd, please come here earlier as the place is usually crowded with people during lunch hour.

Chicken Siew Pau
While leaving the shop, I spotted a little stall at the entrance selling Siew Paus. Not wanting to miss out the Siew Pau, I bought one Chicken Siew Pau to be taken as snack. I believe this is also under the same management as Sing Kee's Roasts rice.
