Raymond Lam's bitter love for "Retarded Sheh" trying for TV King

Raymond Lam is TVB's favorite for heavy promotions. He gets to lead many series and open concerts, taking the spotlight in two areas. TVB also made arrangements for Raymond's drama "Growing Through Life" as this year's TVB anniversary series and decided to pair him up with Charmaine Sheh for a new series. TVB is working their way in pushing Raymond up for TV King.

TVB is really making Raymond in power this year, having him in series and movies one after another. After "The Mysteries of Love", his other series "Growing Through Life" will be broadcast as the anniversary series. By the end of the month, he'll be holding his 4 night concert as well as release his new movie "The Emerald and The Pearl" with Charlene Choi, Joey Yung and Wong Cho Lam, schedule to release on August 5th. Although Raymond's popularity skyrockets, TVB still wants to maintain Raymond's momentum during the TVB anniversary award celebrations, so they scheduled Raymond to start a new series in mid-August, keeping his first line Siu Sang status and popularity.

After his collaboration with Charmaine Sheh in 2007's "The Drive of Life", they will collaborate again in a new series. It was said that the series will start in mid-August. This time, Charmaine makes a breakthrough as she plays a 10 year old mentally challenged girl. As for Raymond, he plays a rich prodigal boy. Although he's very familiar with this type of role, he'll eventually experience poverty and finally become a motivated young man. In the series, Charmaine and Raymond will develop a relationship. Earlier Charmaine visited schools for the mentally challenged children to learn more about her role. Portraying this role will be a great challenge in acting for Charmaine.

Charmaine Sheh to Portray Mentally Challenged Girl; Will Partner With Raymond Lam Again

Several years ago, Roger Kwok Chung On gained immense popularity by portraying mentally challenged characters inSquare Pegs "戆夫成龙" and Life Made Simple "阿旺新傳". Next month, Charmaine Sheh Si Man will also have the opportunity to play a mentally challenged character in the upcoming series, The Colorful World of Sister Fa "花花世界花家姐", which will also star Raymond Lam Fung. Allegedly, Charmaine’s role will be very high profile and may even help her win the Best Actress Award again.

After filming Justice, My Foot "審死官" with Roger Kwok, Charmaine will shoot for twenty-episode series, The Colorful World of Sister Fa. As a delivery girl working at a restaurant, Charmaine’s character will have the mental capability of a ten-year-old girl. In the inspiring series, despite Charmaine’s mental disability, she faces life’s obstacles with perseverance. Her younger sister, Toby Leung Ching Kei, will be bullied by her supervisor at work, Raymond Lam. To protect Toby, Charmaine will work at the same company. As a spoilt rich heir, Raymond throws away the family fortune and in his impoverished state, falls in love with Charmaine.

Producer Kwan Wing Chung said, “Mentally challenged characters offer a great opportunity for actors. Charmaine is still filming in China now. Before leaving China , she will visit a school with mentally disabled children to gather research for the role.”

Raymond Lam Happy to Play Spoilt Heir

Raymond Lam said that he was unafraid that Charmaine will steal the limelight in The Colorful World of Sister Fa. “I always wanted to play flawed characters, to increase my acting versatility. If the audience hates the actor after watching the series, [the portrayal was successful] and I would be happy from an acting standpoint.”
Last year, Raymond and Charmaine wore matching outfits at a promotional function, sparking romantic rumors. Raymond said, “We will not have any more matching outfits, since I have my own clothing sponsor now. Due to our numerous past collaborations, I know Charmaine very well and am unafraid of rumors.”

Heavily promoted by TVB, Raymond’s new series Growing Through Life "摘星之旅" will be broadcast in August. Currently, he is rehearsing for his upcoming July concert. Yesterday, he was practicing with Kate Tsui Chi San and Ron Ng Cheuk Hei, who will be guest performers at the concert. Raymond thanked Kate and Ron for their participation. Ron said, “I should thank Raymond instead for allowing me the chance to perform at the concert. As his friend, I am happy about his upcoming concert.”

Raymond Lam uses "lan gag" to fight for TV King

The recent highly popular Raymond Lam has been really having a lot of news, besides being said that he would have a chance to compete against Chris Lai for TV King, it was also rumoured that his concert's date was clashed with Miss Hong Kong, hence there was no hope for an additional session to be added. Regarding the different rumours, Raymond appeared to be calm. Speaking about Wayne Lai's (One Mountain cannot have Two Tigers), Raymond plays "lan gag" and pointed that he is only a "horse that's willing to run", very humourous.

Raymond Lam, Gigi Leung and a few others were recording for Jade Solid Gold yesterday. Raymond who will be having concert at the end of this month, about the news rumours that Miss Hong Kong which has problems with their venue has to re-schedule to be held back at Hong Kong Coliseum, making Raymond's dreams to have an additional session to vanish. However, when reporters asked Raymond in detail, he did not seem to know about it, :"You need to ask the executives about this." It might be possible to add a session before the first day, however looking at the Hong Kong Coliseum's booking, there will be Alan Tam's concert held on the 24th, therefore there needs to be some time in between for re-building of the stage, probably Raymond's hope for an additional session would not come true.

Raymond Lam and Kate Tsui hot dancing

Yesterday night, Raymond Lam and his guest, Kate Tsui were practising their dance for Raymond's concert which will be held end of this month. The both of them were hot dancing, bending their waists and holding neck. Raymond also put his hands in front of Kate's chest, his actions were brave. Raymond who has worked several times with Kate expressed that he would not be shy. Kate also revealed that one of the action is easy to "run light": "The actions are quite big, that's why when we try on the costume we have to really check properly." About the rumours with Joe Ma, Kate helplessly said, " There is no need to say much, everyone understands, just take it as a joke."

Raymond Lam: Lacks a Lover

Referring Raymond Lam as "Loved by All" is definitely not exaggerated. He has a wealthy family background, successful career, so good at acting and singing he gets complete support. However, what about relationships? Speaking of his "Miss Right" after his one and only rumored girlfriend Linda Chung, there was no one else. Raymond laughed out loud in his response: "My mom asked me when I'm going to get a girl... Can't rush these things, one day I will have a family of my own, just I don't know when." Life is like that, not perfect.

Speaking of his rumored girlfriend Linda Chung in the past year, he said: "It's quite funny talking about it. Honestly, I never dated Linda. It's less than 5 times that I spoke to her on the phone. And when we do, it's mainly on what time we're filming tomorrow or say a Thank You after shooting a MV. But such simple thing can lead to such big rumors, even people from overseas believed it. They called me and asked if I was dating? If the rumors continue like this, I'm afraid the public will think it's true, then no one will want to get near me."

[Oriental Daily 7/9/10] In another interview, Raymond admits that he did have 'good feelings' towards Linda. He said: "Because we were filming series together, I have talked to Linda on the phone. As partners in a series and for filming purposes, I did have 'good feelings' for her. (Qualify your girlfriend requirements?) No, our personalities do not match. I only can treat her as a friend and little sister, I won't have love feelings for her." Plans to be married at age 35, Raymond lets go of many of his requirements for a girlfriend, he said: "I only look for someone with an attractive appearance and that we feel comfortable being together."

Currently in his career, it is the time to work the hardest. Raymond frankly said that each day, all his time is put on work, he has a very tight schedule, so he's always been teased that his life is very 'dry'. Although he's not in a rush to find his 'goddess', but every parent is worried about their children. Raymond said: "My parents have never given me pressure. If I do have a girlfriend, I will introduce her to my family, let her meet my parents. But my mom teases me too, she asked when I'm going to get a girl. I guess if this goes on, she'll make arrangements to match-make me with someone. However, for match-making I need to ask my company to see if it's okay first. I personally feel that you can't force relationships. If I go and force a relationship now, but have no time to develop it, then it's not fair to my other half. I won't think too much now, when fate comes then I'll figure it out."

Democratic Parents

Raymond's father Lam Wah Kwok (Lin HuaGuo) has a real estate business in Mainland. Asked if his father is worried about his love life? He said: "My dad never asked me about my relationships. I guess he cares more about if I'll be able to help him with the family business in the future instead. Although he never directly said that, every parent wants their own son or daughter to be by their side more often. But from another point of view, he saw that my career is getting better and better in the recent year, my family has always been democratic, my parents continuously encourage and support my showbiz career."

Speaking of his career, television series he accepts one after another. Last year he focused on singing, this year he's holding another concert, Raymond frankly said he's really lucky: "But I know just luck won't get you anywhere, so the most important thing is your personal hard work because when more opportunities are offered to you, then you'll be ready for it. Opportunities and Luck landing on your hands is meaningless, how a company pushes you is useless and not convincing when your not ready for it." But this year TVB presented him the [Asia-Pacific Most Popular Male Singer] award, stirring up many different comments by the public, does he feel that the love TVB has for him actually became harmful instead? He said: "My entry into the industry is an opportunity TVB gave me, whatever they decide, I will accept it and trust them. A large company like TVB, before a decision is made, it has to go through many people. As an artist, we really don't have think so much about it, focus on doing our best. Different comments will help push myself to do better in the future. Today, whatever I'm unsatisfied with, I definitely will work until it gets better. There will always be stress, but what’s most important is that I'm clear on every step I take."

This year Raymond is earning a lot from his jobs, was he rewarding himself by buying a 200 million car and luxury home? Raymond said: "Before I got this new one, I used my previous car for 10 years. Compared to other people changed their cars several times in a few years is not considered bad, for me I've been in the industry for 12 years, such a big boy now, not having plans on buying my own home, then I'm really not thinking straight!" Prince Lam, you do have a point there!

Raymond Lam dare not look at "Low V" Miss Hong Kong

Raymond Lam and 10 finalists of Miss Hong Kong gathered at Tuen Mun to shoot Raymond's 3D MV (Come 2 Me) which will be aired in his upcoming concert. The pretty girls were in Low V, while Raymond was taking a rest to wipe his sweat, he did not even peek at them and looked steadily forward.

Raymond laughed and said, "There's reporters here, I dare not look." (Found any you like?) "I don't remember any." (Leaving target for yourself?) "Don't joke! I know you're laughing at me and Linda Chung, but she's not Miss Hong Kong, she's Miss Chinese International." (Very familiar with Linda's background?) "Previously I wanted to look for some ex-Miss Hong Kong for shooting, I knew because someone mentioned it." (TVB even gave you Miss Hong Kong's session dates?) "I grew up in TVB, eversince I've stepped in the industry, company has been giving me alot of good things, taking good care of me! I have to do my best to return these blessings to company."

Labels: "The Mysteries of Love" highest rating celebration: Finale 38 points, peaks at 42

Raymond Lam, Kenneth Ma, Tavia Yeung and Bernice Liu attended a celebration for their high rated series (Mysteries of Love). The finale episode received the highest ratings so far, averaging 38 points and peaking at 42 points. On stage, Raymond was requested to treat everyone for a trip to Thailand. He fought back saying that he never seen Kenneth do any treating.
.
Kenneth said Raymond is going to have a concert soon, earning lots of money, but Raymond doesn't show his weakness as he said: "I heard Kenneth Ma also got himself a new car. I really never said that I'll treat a trip to Thailand, but I should treat everyone to a meal. However, have to wait until I finish my concert first. (Is Kenneth cheap?) I don't know how to say it, I done the treating numerous times, just too many times. Kenneth is not cheap, he's a good man!"
.
(Mysteries) has always been criticized of copying Japanese drama (Detective Galileo), coincidentally TVB is currently airing the drama again. Raymond said: "I'm not afraid that viewers may find more similarities. (Is there going to a sequel?) I didn't agree to anything from Producer Lau Ka Ho. (How will you celebrate Virgina Lok's birthday?) Every year I'm always there for her, but the gift isn't. (Afraid of the ICAC, don't dare to give gifts?) No, maybe I'll treat her to dinner."
.
Tavia learned that (Detective Galileo) is broadcasting again on TVB, she joked: "That evil? Well it's good, I never watched it. Don't know if viewers will compare me to the series, but I think most housewives ('see lai') are asleep at that time. (Mysteries sequel?) The ending is already really good. If there is a sequel, hopefully there will be a whole new story. (Wait for more Japanese dramas to air, then copy some more?) Not necessary. Maybe the Japanese dramas copies us! I want to work with more male artists. I haven't kissed Takeshi Kaneshiro or Kevin Cheng before. The most recent one is Raymond Wong. His wife told me to play more with her husband. I won't get a few slaps from other people since I stamp collect and kiss fairly. (Work with your rumored boyfriend Chris Lai?) He's my good brother and good sister"
