Plan B @ Bangsar Village 1

Had a great dinner with Sf few days ago at Plan B, Bangsar Village. Initially, we planned to eat Sakae Sushi but it was closed down. Thus, we head to Plan B which is really our plan B. Lol.......

According to their website, this modern coffee shop prides itself in its specialist coffee blend and its seasonal selection of single origin beans, all roasted and ground fresh in-house daily. Apart from the usual styles, the cafe also offers alternative brewing methods such as siphon, French Press and Pour Over. Plan B 's modern Aussie-meets-New York-deli menu boasts hearty breakfasts, contemporary salads, wholesome sandwiches made with freshly baked breads; pastas, and a variety of rustic cakes and desserts.

Complimentary plain water from Plan B.......Interesting cause they put into a glass bottle resembling antiseptic solutions which are kept in a glass bottle......

Apple Mint Granita (RM 9).....nothing special, just like ordinary apple juice but in ice blended form......

Granita (in Italian also granita siciliana) is a semi-frozen dessert made from sugar, water and various flavorings.

Lychee Lime Granita (RM 9)
Sf's lychee lime granita........Tasted much better than my apple mint granita.....Very refreshing........

2 huge lychees in the granita.........

The Loaded Club Sandwich (RM 20)
The sandwich is loaded with grilled chicken, turkey bacon, roasted capsicums & avo & feta mash, stacked on egg mayo spread and held together by three slices of home-made white bread

A variety of chips accompanying the sandwich; eg: sweet potato chips and yam chips...

Prime Beef Pie (RM 22)
The pie is filled with tender wagyu chunks, button mushrooms & onions in hearty gravy, served with a side salad. Look at the little alphabet "B" on top of the pastry....cute right? hehehe...Very full after finishing the whole pie by myself....yummy yummy.......

Kam Heong Duck Rice @ PJ New Town

Every six months, I'll visit Kam Heong Duck Rice Restaurant once because I need to do some banking in the UOB Bank next to it. In the morning, this coffee shop sells Char Kuey Teow, Curry Mee, Prawn Mee and Claypot Porridge. When the clock struck 5pm, Kam Heong Braised Duck aka Lou Ngap rice will take over the whole coffee shop. This shop has been around since 1976. It is older than me....lol...

Besides selling Lou Ngap, there are other braised Teochew dishes available as well such as
Braised Pork Trotter, Braised Mushrooms, Duck Intestines, liver and Gizzards and Braised Tau Fu & Egg.

For this round, we did not order the Lou Ngap. Will have them another time. We just had the braised pork trotter, duck intestines and gizzards and Ham Choy. Both mum and I had a very satisfying dinner. Will come back again for other stuffs......Yummy Yummy.........

Salted Vegetables @ Ham Choy
I love this very much. The salty vegetables were cooked with pork lard until soft and the taste is good; not really salty. Very appetizing and goes very well with the fragrant rice.

Braised Pork Leg
The above portion is for 2 people. I like this very much. The meat is cooked until soft and tender. The gravy accompanying the pork is very good too. The gravy was cooked with some herbs and spices. Highly recommended.

Duck Intestines and Gizzards
The gizzards & intestines were soaked in a very delicious duck broth. The gravy is really good to be poured onto the rice and just eat like that.

P/S: Do come early to avoid the crowd...I'LL BE BACK!!!!!

Total damage including 3 rice + 2 Chinese tea = RM 18.70

Wai Kei Restaurant @ Old Klang Road

Had lunch today with mum, aunt and cousin at Wai Kee Reataurant. The purpose is of course to try out their famous Yong Tau Foo. Although Wai Kee is famous for its Hakka food, the Yong Tau Foo is not made the Hakka way. The Yong Tau Foo's fillings were made of pure fish paste instead of the Hakka way of mixed pork and fish paste.

We ordered 10 pieces of Yong Tau Foo; consisted of chilli, brinjal, "foo chuk", bittergourd & "taufu pok". The portions were generous, whereby the Yong Tau Foos were fully stuffed with tasty fish paste.

I'm not sure how much each piece cost. Probably RM1-RM1.20.

Besides the Yong Tau Foos, wealso ordered braised Yee Mee and Wat Tan Hor. The braised Yee Mee was good with tiny bits of crispy pork lards. But, the Wat Tan Hor was not that good. Too little gravy.

P/S: Please be there early or you will have to wait for a while before being getting a table as the place is especially packed during lunch hours and also prepare to wait for your food to arrive. We waited for about 20 minutes for the food to arrive.

Total damage = RM42
