The Saigon Exhibition Convention Center, for the first time, had become a place for an ideal performance for a particular program – a performance that was not as energetic and loud as Rain Bi’s nor was it as calm as Louis Koo’s performance at Lan Anh Center a few years back. Raymond Lam has characteristics that no other star can match, and that is his friendliness towards the fans.

Although his voice when singing was not as sweet (directly translated; it could mean nothing special probably because of the sentimental songs that he sang only and there were no upbeat songs for him to change the way he sings or tone of voice), and his songs were gentle melodies, therefore, dancing was not an option. However, he always smiled when he appeared on stage. Raymond is the only star who is “bold” enough to approach and make contact with the fans, and it was the first time that the audience had seen such an event that is the only one of a kind: the director was “bold” enough to let the fans who wore uniforms to get on stage and sing a whole song with Raymond (Remember to Forget). It was more touching than seeing Raymond wiping his tears because at the end of the song he spread his arms apart and embraced the fans. That particular scene was the most touching and emotional moment ever from a foreign star who came to Vietnam to perform.

Bao Thy did not make the first stage appearance for the opening of the concert as planned, but Raymond made the first appearance. The cute, Luong Bich Huu, appeared singing the song “Co Gai Trung Hoa” ["The Chinese Girl"] and gave Raymond the Vietnamese bamboo hats, which caused the audience to become fascinated by the scene. Ho Ngoc Ha did not disappoint the audience with her vibrant style.

Healthy Chocolate Treats

Chocolates are good for you, believe it or not. Of course, chocolate was rationed since it was associated with obesity, tooth decay, hyperactivity and pimples, among others. Thankfully, recent studies are now disproving some of these common myths about the dangers of chocolate. For example, it is not true that it can cause acne or make it worse.

In 1985, it says, the consumption of chocolate was around 0.245kg per person and this increased to 0.657kg per person in 1992.

We don’t know what the figure is now but judging from the preponderance of shops selling chocolates, we can assume that consumption must have grown at an explosive rate since 1992! From the normal grocery store to specialist outlets, they seem to have mushroomed in the past few years much to the delight of diehard chocoholics.

Raymond Lam in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Raymond Lam attended a press conference in Vietnam the other night. He will be performing his concert at Ho Chi Minh city tonight. This is Raymond's first time in Vietnam, a few hundred fans were already waiting for him in the airport. When Raymond arrived at the airport, he was swamped by them. Although he was surrounded by many security guards, he was happy to see the fans.

Raymond told the reporter he is very happy to hold his concert in Vietnam. This is because after his concert in Hong Kong, he got invited to hold his concert in Vietnam. He reckoned this is his chance to perform outside Hong Kong. The local TV station is broadcasting one of his TV series, therefore, his fans are watching him too.

Crazy fan in Kuala Lumpur hits Raymond Lam's head

Raymond Lam as spokesperson for Alicafe attended the promotion activity and autograph session in Kuala Lumpur (KL) 2 days ago. He will visit Penang, Ipoh and Singapore later on for his promotion activity. While he was in KL, he attracted over thousand people who wanted to see him and the scene was described as chaotic.

Raymond was planning to sign 3 hundred names, but the fans were pushing forwards and backwards, nearly causing an accident, he had to stop the session. Raymond was very worried about the safety of his fans. He urged them to keep calm so that he could continue. Raymond told reporter afterwards that he was worried that accident might happen, but he was very happy to see his fans hospitality.

This is his 4th visits to KL, the local TV station is showing "Heart of Greed", that makes his fans even more excited to see him. When he had his "Let's get wet" concert in Hong Kong earlier on, the local fans asked when is he having another concert? Raymond said he is hoping to have one in KL.

TVB executive Virgina Lok had a birthday bash earlier, loveable Raymond Lam attended the party empty handed. Canton-i @ The Gardens, Mid Valley

Went to Canton-i at the Gardens with my mum today for lunch. We ordered only two sets of food there.

My Roast pork Belly with Char Siew Wanton Mee (RM 13)

I love both the roast pork and char siew because the roast pork belly was really crispy and not that salty as compared to the normal roast pork I had. While, the Char Siew was nice too where it was glazed with honey and the meat is tender. But, for those who are on the heavy side should avoid both the roast pork and char siew as they have lots of fats....lol...................As for the noodle, the noodles were quite springy. According to an article in the Star newspaper, their wanton noodles are flown in weekly, and they use gluten Canadian flour and quality eggs from Hong Kong so that their noodles have a luscious golden yellow colour with a firm and springy bite.

My mum's braised chicken with roast pork belly rice (RM 12.80)

Overall, I am quite satisfied with the food there. My only complain is that I waited for about half an hour for my food to arrive...sigh......


If I am not wrong, Canton-I is owned by the highly popular Dragon-I. However, different menu is served here such as noodles, rice, congee, dim sum items (fried, pan fried and steamed) and desserts. The front part of the restaurant is the open kitchen where you get to see the barbequed meats and the chefs cooking noodles. A small take away area for pastries is tucked at the side. For those who loved authentic Hong Kong food should try out Canton-i.

Raymond Lam Attends Virginia Lok's Birthday Party

It was TVB executive's, Virginia Lok, birthday. She specially booked a bar in Central IFC and provided buffet feast to give a treat to her good friends. TVB's Siu Sangs and Fa Dans, and music company executives turned up to congratulate her. Her guests included Nat Chan and his wife, Stephen Chan, Raymond Lam, Moses Chan, Joe Ma and Fala Chen. To prevent the reporters from disturbing the guests, Miss Lok even instructed the restaurant workers to use black cloth to cover the doors and windows. According to sources, Joe Ma brought along a karaoke set from his home, and the comical Moses Chan requested Raymond Lam, whom just held his concert, to perform in the soaking wet image again. He would even prepare hot female dancers for him, making the scene very hilarious.

Because of another TVB executive, Stephen Chan, being a vegetarian, Miss Lok specially prepared part of the buffet meal to be vegetarian, showing her meticulousness. When she was asked on what gifts she had received, she said, "Scarves etc. Everything of all sorts."
