Yummy Duck Roast House @ Kuchai Lama

After mum read about Yummy Duck Roast House in the papers, we decided to go there to try out their duck rice. We were quite disappointed with the food because the roast duck is not that yummy after all. A bit too dry. They should provide some sauce to eat with but there wasn't any....Sigh.......

Mum's double combination rice with roast duck and roast spare ribs
The ribs were quite good actually......

My double combination rice with roast duck and roast pork
Nothing to shout about....I had much better roast pork at other place before.......

Revisit to Goon Wah @ Kuchai Lama

I think this is my 4th time coming to Goon Wah for their famous fish head noodles. In addition to the fish head noodles and pig stomach and intestines, we ordered their Swiss Chicken too.

Very good chilli sauce...goes very well with the noodles. Mum always have more than 1 plate of those chilli sauce.......
Swiss Chicken
Extremely good.....I think I can finish the whole plate by myself if we did not order the fish head....

The ever famous fish head nooddles.....As usual the soup contains yam slices, fish head, pickles, tomatoes and noodless...

Stir-fried interstines and stomach with dried chrimps and pork lards......Forever so good...Never get tired of eating it...lol....

Restoran Sin Chua Kee @ Kuchai Lama

This was my second time eating out at Sin Chua Kee Restaurant. For this round, mum and I had marmite pork ribs, fish stomach and "Siong Tong Yin Choi". The food arrived quite fast; which is good because I was starving at that time. Food here is really good and satisfying. Definitely will come here again to try their crab dishes as I saw many people ordering crabs.

One more thing, if you do not want to wait for tables, please come here early as I saw many people standing while waiting for their table.

Marmite Pork Ribs (RM 18)
The pork ribs were good as they were deep fried and covered with thick marmite gravy. The meat came off easily and wasn't tough and dry. Mum actually took the time to count the number of pork ribs being served. Guess what is the total number.....the answer is 8 pieces of ribs...lol...If I have more stomach, I'll order another plate of ribs as they were really good. Yummy yummy..............

Stir-fried Fish Stomach (RM 14)
Interesting dish........I am not sure what type of fish stomach they used. Probably some small fishes as the stomach is not that big or was it the stomach of big fishes as I'm not sure of how big a fish stomach can be...hahaha.......The fish stomach were cooked in a similar way as pig intestines whereby it is fried with dried shrimps and pork lards. Yeah, the pork lards were fattening and delicious. The fish stomachs by itself has no taste; in which the taste came mainly from the dried shrimps and the texture of the stomachs were crispy.........First time eating fish stomach....

Siong Tong Yin Choi (RM 16)
Our only green for the night. Luckily the vege doesn't have little sands in them. Some restaurants do not wash Yin Choi properly and still have sands in them. The soup were okay....could be better by adding some century eggs....

Total damage including 3 big rice + 1 Chinese tea + 1 plain water = RM 42.90

Revisit to Ipoh Salt-Baked Chicken @ Kuchai Lama

This is my second visit to the restaurant for dinner. For this round, we ordered the famous salt-baked chicken and steamed 3 types of eggs. Not bad.... With this visit, we left only the pork dishes yet to be tried. Maybe will visit them for the 3rd time next time.

Complimentary soup

Steamed 3 types of Eggs (RM 8)
Consisted of normal egg, salted egg and century egg.....Very smooth and tasty....good good.....

Original Salted-Baked Half Chicken (RM 13)
They used kampumg chicken....the half bird is just nice for me and my mum.....Taste good with some herbs in it such as dong gui....Would be better if it is more juicy....a bit dry......

Total damage including 3 plain rice (RM 2) & 6% tax (RM 1.40) = RM 24.40 (quite affordable)

Ipoh Salt-Baked Chicken @ Kuchai Lama

Thanks to aunt again, mum and I had another great dinner at Ipoh Salt-Baked Chicken Restaurant. We ordered 4 dishes.

Steamed Fire Breathing Fish (RM20)
What a nice name right, but actually, according to the waiter, the fish being used is known as Taipan fish aka Black Tilapia Fish. This fish is named as steamed fire breathing fish because it is steamed according to 3 different level of spiciness. Ours was level 1 with 5 chillies in it. I can't remember what is the number of chillies in level 3. If not wrong is more than 10 chillies. I'll order level 2 next time cause level 1 the spiciness is really lo...Can't feel the "kick"...hehe......The fish is steamed just right without the fishy smell....yummy yummy...........

Steamed Tofu (RM9)
The tofu is very smooth and the paste taste very good. The paste is made from minced fish and pork.

Steamed Lala with Pork Belly (RM 15)
The gravy is good with slight taste of wine. But unfortunately, the lala are steamed too long. All shrink and slightly tough. The pork is cut into small cutlets with very little meat attached to it but contains lots of fats. What a waste for the good gravy.

Lettuce aka "Sang Choi" with Oyster Sauce (RM 7)
Our only green for the night. The portion they give is quite big but at a very reasonable price...good good............

I don't know how much is the total bill cause aunt treated us but I think it shouldn't be that expensive since the price for each dish is quite reasonable.........Will be back next time for their salt-baked chicken...........
