IPPUDO was founded in 1985 in Japan’s ramen capital of Hakata by Shigemi Kawahara, the internationally renowned Ramen King and CEO of Chikaranomoto Company, which encompasses some of Japan’s finest restaurants. IPPUDO arrived in Malaysia in 2013.
This is the interior of Ippudo in The Gardens.
Sesame seed, chilli powder & black pepper....The sesame seed being kept in a cute mini grinder.......
Akamaru Shinaji added with Tamago (RM 30)
This is IPPUDO’s original tonkotsu broth enhanced with special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil. Served with thin noodles, pork belly, kikurage and spring onions. I like the soup very much as it is very flavorful. I also added lots of sesame powder to make the soup more fragrant and tasty.
One can choose whether to have the noodles in soft, normal, hard or very hard texture. I chose the normal texture but I still find it a bit hard for me. In the future, I will try their soft texture noodles instead.
Yummy pork belly slice....tender with a thin layer of fatty goodness
The tamago is actually a salted soft-boiled egg. Look at the beautiful yellow runny yolk. I mixed the yolk with the soup to make it creamier and thicker.
Total damage = RM 34.80 (including 16 % tax)

The Kailan is stir fried with ingredients like black fungus, carrot and salted fish....a tasty vege dish with good "wok hei"
Steamed Chicken (RM 1)
The chicken is steamed to just right...not overcook nor undercooked....the meat is tender and smooth...Eat the meat with the soy sauce for better taste......
Passed by Eu Yang Sang Heritage Restaurant recently in LG the Gardens Mall and saw them having promotion on their Polo Buns. I got one of their baked custard polo bun and another Huai Shan Chicken polo bun at RM 3.20 (including tax).
a) Baked Custard Polo Bun
Nice top view of the bun
The top is slightly sweet and has a texture similar to biscuit crumbs.
Inside of the bun containing the custard filling. Quite nice, not too sweet but would be nicer if there were more custards.
b) Huai Shan Chicken Polo Bun
Just like the custard bun, the top is slightly sweet and has a bread crumb like texture. The difference is that sesame seeds were added on the chicken bun.
The chicken filling tasted just so so. Nothing to shout about. The taste quite similar to char siew but using chicken meat.
If you fancy some fresh nice gelato, Gelatissimo is the place to be. The first Gelatissimo shop was founded in Sydney in September 2002. And now, Gelatissimo, one of the largest gelato franchises in the world has established throughout South East Asia, the Middle East and even in the birthplace of gelato itself, Italy. Gelatissimo's gelato are made fresh daily. One can choose to eat their gelato in cone or cup. Gelato in cone is more expensive than in a cup.
Last Sunday, after lunch, YC and I went to Gelatissimo to grab 2 cone of gelato; one for each of us. YC had the green tea gelato, while I had the forest berries gelato. Each single scoop gelato in a cone cost us RM 9.90.
Great!
Green Tea I quite like this green tea gelato because it is creamy and rich in green tea taste.
Great!
Forest Berries The forest berries gelato falls under the sorbet range which is really sour, slightly sweet and refreshing. The sorbet is full of mixed berries flavor and is 100% fat free. The sorbet was smooth and melted easily in the mouth. Let the sorbet linger in your mouth for a while to have the pleasurable icy effect in your mouth.
Following are other varieties of gelato available from Gelatissiomo. Very attractive and colourful.

This is my first time patronizing Delectable by Su's shop. The shop is famous for its sugar crafted cakes, brownies, cookies, cupcakes, truffles and other sweet treats.
I got myself one of their specialties, the Seven Sins of Chocolate. This sinful chocolate cake is actually a cake made up of 7 types of chocolate varieties. The 7 types are dark chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, cocoa powder, chocolate cream, chocolate ganache, chocolate cake and cocoa nibs. The cake is best eaten when it is cold and make sure to consume it within two days while it is still fresh.
Overall, I am really satisfed with this cake because it is full of chocolate goodness but not overly sweet as usualu, something that is so rich in chocolate would be very sweet. But this cake is not. Thumbs up.
Great!
My cake is inside this lovely packaging with a ribbon tied on it.
Great!
Great!
The top layer of the cake which consisted of dark chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, cocoa powder and cocoa nibs. Very attractive presentation. My favourite is the dark chocolate chips and least favourite is the cocoa nbs because it is quite tasteless and hard.
Great!
The chocolate ganache and chocolate cream layer. When it is still cold, this layer of chocolate cream has a texture similar to ice cream. Very smooth and creamy.
Great!
The chocolate cake layer This layer of chocolate cake is very moist and yummy.
Great!
The 3 distinguished layers of the cake If possible, try to eat all the layers of cakes together to get the best of it. I am sure all chocolate cake lovers out there will fall in love with this cake and those who are down will feel happier after consuming it....Yummy yummy....

My first Mexican dining experience is given to Fresca Mexican Restaurant & Bar at The Gardens Mall. It is located just opposite Han's Room. This Mexican restaurant has a cosy and nice ambience. Service was good too as when we arrived, the workers there warmly greeted us and quickly arrange our seating place for us and handling us the menu. We ordered the following as our drinks:
Mango juice (RM 9.50) A very good pure mango juice. This mango juice is very thick with very little water in it, unlike those diluted mango juice in some places where it is diluted with water. Another good thing is I don't think they added sugar into the juice, even if they added in, it must be very little because all I can taste is mango's natural sweetness and not from sugar. Very refreshing.
Avocado juice (RM 12.00) The avocado juice is not bad either because it is very thick and rich in avocado but the taste is on the bland side as they did not add in sugar as well.
Before my friend and I start off our main dishes at Fresca, we had the following Guacamole with chips as our starter. Guacamole name comes from the Aztec translation of 'Guac' meaning avocado, and 'Mole' meaning sauce.
Great!
Guacamole with chips (RM20.00)
This starter came with a basket of Tortilla chips which is made of corn and avocado sauce as the dipping. The avocado is mashed and have similar texture with mashed potato. The difference it that the avocado is more creamy, thick and rich. The combination of the crispy chips and the dipping gives an interesting flavor to my palate. After finishing all the chips, we have plenty of the dippings left, but we still finished the dippings cause it was good.
Since there were only two of us, we ordered only two main dishes as the following at Fresca for our lunch.
Great!
Enchiladas Verdes (RM15) Enchiladas Verdes is actually corn tortillas stuffed with shredded chicken covered in salsa verde and gratin-cheese finish.
Great!
Lots of shredded chicken were given but I don't really fancy the shredded chicken because I find them a bit dry. Not enough gravy. But when eaten together with the cheese, the chicken taste better as the cheese give the chicken a creamy and rich flavor.
Tacos Ensenada (RM 19.00) Tacos Ensenada is a dish originated from Ensenada, Baja California. Tacos Ensenada is actually beer battered fish topped with coleslaw wrapped with flour tortillas. The addition of the coleslaw gives a crunchy texture to this dish. Supposedly the fish's batter contains beer but I can't taste the beer. To me, the fish tasted like the normal deep fried fish used in fish and chips and is slightly oily. The price for this dish is quite pricey as only 3 tacos ensenada being given.
I always pass by Lee Lee's Sumptuous Desserts kiosk in The Gardens and saw many beautiful desserts being sold at the kiosk. Among the desserts are durian pancakes, jackfruit (cempedak) pancakes, tiramisu and jellies. The desserts were prepared fresh every morning. According to them, the durian pancake is their best seller, thus I decided to get myself 2 pieces of durian pancakes.
My box of 2 pieces of durian pancake (RM 4.00)
This delicate pillow of pancake of pleasure is consisted of pure durian flesh and cream wrapped in a light crepe skin. Just one bite and I am sure durian lovers will love it. The durian pancakes were not too sweet, just nice for my liking.
Filled with abundance of soft cream and durian flesh filling....they are not stingy in putting in fresh durian flesh....
